Procurement, Engineering & Lifecycle

Answers to the questions procurement asks first.

Is the Lynnwood site a full engineering center, or just a sales office? What engineering capabilities are available there?

Lynnwood, WA serves as the headquarters of Taitien’s North America Engineering Service Center (NAESC). The site is staffed by a three-function team — Field Application Engineers (FAEs), Application Engineers, and Sales — and is equipped with in-region production capability and an in-house test laboratory .

Services cover:

  • Design-in consulting and custom development support
  • Localized production for specific part families
  • Full-spectrum testing for frequency stability and phase noise

This is a site that can take a project from technical scoping through production and shipment — not a sales office.

How does Taitien’s North American supply chain reduce geopolitical risk and disruption exposure?

Risk reduction is built into three layers:

  • Local manufacturing — the Lynnwood site produces select part families domestically for customers with U.S.-sourcing requirements.
  • Regional distribution hub — North American shipments are coordinated from Lynnwood, backed by strategic buffer stocking and VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) programs to reduce single-point supply risk.
  • Localized procurement — critical materials are sourced through North American channels to minimize cross-border logistics exposure.

The combined objective is simple: your supply chain should not be disrupted by geopolitics, shipping lanes, or time zones.

If my current supplier’s product goes obsolete, can Taitien provide a replacement?

Yes. Taitien positions legacy continuity as a core function of the NAESC — when another supplier stops shipping, your program should not stop with it.

The process:

  • Share the original part number, package, pinout, and critical specs
  • Lynnwood engineers run a cross-reference and propose a compatible solution

For cases where the package is identical but internal circuitry needs a minor adjustment, our application engineers can lead a small-lot custom effort — typically without requiring a PCB redesign on your end.

Is Taitien a good fit for High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) programs? What is the minimum order quantity?

Very much so — HMLV is Lynnwood’s primary service model .

Defense, aerospace, infrastructure, and critical industrial programs share a common demand profile: many part numbers, modest unit volumes, tight specifications, long lifecycles. This is structurally different from consumer electronics, and Lynnwood’s production and engineering workflow is built for it.

MOQs vary by product family and level of customization; sample orders and small-lot qualification builds are both supported. If your annual usage is in the hundreds-to-thousands range, engage Lynnwood directly — we do not turn projects away on volume alone.

What is FASTXO — what product families are covered, and how fast can you actually deliver?

FASTXO is a dedicated quick-turn service for engineers who need working parts on the bench in days, not weeks. It covers Taitien’s configurable TCXO, VCXO, and Oscillator product families — the part lines most commonly needed for RF, avionics, timing, and communications design-in evaluation.

Committed delivery windows from the Lynnwood hub:

  • Samples — within 24 hours for engineering evaluation units at standard configurations
  • Small-lot prototypes — within 1 week for qualification and pre-production builds
For programs lasting 10 years or more, what supply commitment can Taitien offer?

Taitien has served infrastructure and multi-year programs since 1976 — product lifecycle management is one of our core capabilities . For long-term programs, we offer:

  • Sales contract + U.S. inventory stock — negotiated supply agreements with dedicated buffer stock held at the North American hub
  • Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) — Taitien manages a dedicated stock pool based on your annual commitment, held at the North American hub
  • Advance notice of product changes — early visibility into planned changes or discontinuation, giving your program time to evaluate alternatives

Specific terms are tailored to the part, volume, and program timeline.

If I want to design-in a Taitien oscillator, what kind of engineering support does Lynnwood provide?

Lynnwood’s engineering support goes well beyond handing over a datasheet. It includes:

  • Design-in consulting — the FAE recommends part selection based on your application constraints (phase noise budget, g-sensitivity, temperature range, SWaP-C)
  • Application validation support for your specific use case
  • Front-end design guidance to help you make the right technical call before specs are locked
  • Application documentation aligned with real market needs

This depth of design-in engagement is not something distributor channels typically offer — and it is the core value the NAESC is built to deliver.
