In today’s explosive internet traffic growth driven by data intensive applications such as video file sharing and cloud computing, the need to increase the connection bandwidth to accommodate the data demand is becoming one of the priorities for telecommunication carriers and enterprise networks. TAITIEN Electronics, a technology leader in frequency control solutions, has been at the forefront of pushing fabrication technology on quartz resonators to enable high-frequency and low phase noise crystal oscillators to fulfill the performance requirements by high-speed networking and next generation data communication systems. TAITIEN’s proprietary inverted mesa technology utilizes photolithography manufacturing to produce quartz blanks capable of fundamental resonance at high frequencies which cannot be achieved by the traditional mechanical lapping and polishing techniques.
Leveraging the inverted mesa technology and low noise oscillation circuits, TAITIEN offers a variety of high-frequency crystal oscillators targeted for applications such as 10G/40G/100G Ethernet switching, Fiber Channel, FTTH, and SONET. TAITIEN’s OT series with inverted mesa blanks are capable of achieving typical phase jitter performance of 50 fs or 0.05 ps from 12KHz to 20MHz integration bandwidth at 156.25MHz carrier frequency. This performance is far superior to that from clock oscillators using frequency multiplication approach such as PLL to obtain high frequencies. Consequently, TAITIEN’s low phase noise crystal oscillators can be utilized as clean clock references for additional frequency synthesis. The ultra low jitter OT oscillators are available in LVPECL output waveform over operating temperature range of -40 to 85C in the industry standard 7x5mm SMD package.
